FAQ

Venetian plaster FAQ

What is Venetian plaster?

A thin decorative plaster built up in layers and burnished to a soft sheen, giving depth without the weight of stone slabs. Movement in the finish comes from trowel work, not a printed pattern.

How long does it last?

With correct prep and typical interior use, installs age well for years. High-wear zones (tight hallways, chair rails) may need touch-ups over time; we will flag that during the quote.

What surfaces can receive it?

Stable drywall, skimmed masonry, and many primed substrates work. We test suction and bond before full coverage. Soft or failing plaster should be repaired first. See our plaster repair page.

Are the products low-VOC?

Product lines vary. We specify modern lime and acrylic blends suited to each room and can share the manufacturer data sheet for the system we propose. We do not claim a single VOC rating for every finish.

Can you match a colour?

Yes. Samples on your wall under your lighting are the best way to lock in a tone before we commit to the full wall. Bring cabinet or fabric swatches if you have them.
